Job Description

Stainless Distributors is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day clerical tasks, ensuring efficient operations in the accounting department. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent numerical skills and a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

This is a temp-to-hire position.

The general Accounting Assistant job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable (AR):
• Generate and issue invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Record and process customer payments.
• Investigate and resolve AR-related discrepancies.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices and payment.
• Maintain precise records of customer accounts and transactions on accounting software.

• Accounts Payable (AP):
• Review, verify, and enter invoices into the accounting system.
• Prepare and process vendor payments, ensuring timely and exact disbursements.
• Maintain precise records of invoices, payments, and vendor information on accounting software.
• Assist with reconciling accounts payable balances.

• General Accounting Support:
• Maintain and update financial records and databases with precision.
• Provide general administrative support to the accounting department. 
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies. 
• Complete other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably supporting AR and AP functions.
• Advanced data entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Accounting Software.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
