Position Title: Dual Role – Receptionist / Salon Assistant
Location: Hairdreams Salon by Michael Boychuck
Compensation: $18.00 per hour

We are currently seeking a dynamic and versatile Receptionist / Salon Assistant to join our team. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is passionate about both customer service and the beauty industry. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking effectively.

This position combines front-desk administrative responsibilities with hands-on support for our talented stylists. You will be the first point of contact for our guests and play a crucial role in ensuring every client enjoys a five-star salon experience from start to finish.

Primary Responsibilities:

Reception & Front Desk Duties

• Welcome clients warmly upon arrival and assist them with check-in and check-out processes

• Manage all incoming calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and schedule client appointments using Meevo Software

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and waiting area at all times

• Handle retail product sales and keep inventory organized and fully stocked

• Provide exceptional customer service and promptly resolve any guest concerns to ensure client satisfaction

Salon Assistant Responsibilities

• Assist stylists with day-to-day operations including shampooing, blow drying, and basic styling

• Mix and prepare hair color as directed by stylists

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of salon tools, stations, and common areas

• Ensure smooth workflow by anticipating the needs of the team and clients

• Support back-of-house duties as needed to keep the salon running efficiently

Requirements:

• Prior experience in customer service is required

• Previous salon, spa, or beauty retail experience is highly preferred

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to manage time effectively and remain calm under pressure

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

• A valid Cosmetology License is required for salon assistant duties
