While training and operating with a limited clinical schedule, the Genetic Counselor will provide genetic counseling services for various genetics clinics, including but not limited to maternal-fetal medicine, oncology, neurology, cardiology, and plastic surgery. The Counselor will function as a member of the healthcare team, providing invaluable services, including risk assessment, education, result interpretation, and supportive counseling for patients across the southeast. The Genetic Counselor will not only support medical geneticists, but various specialties across the system.
Position Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Completion of, or within one year of graduation from, a Master’s degree program in Genetic Counseling required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
License, Certification And/Or Registration Required: Currently certified or eligible for certification as a Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) within three (3) years of obtaining a Master’s degree.
