Tight Quarters is a leader in the Construction / demolition industry, committed to excellence in project execution and workforce development. We are seeking a Human Resources Administrator Assistant / Administration Assistant to support our growing team.

Position Summary

This role plays a vital role in supporting day-to-day HR functions, including recruiting support, workers' compensation administration, new hire orientation, performance reviews, and employee relations. This role ensures compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations while fostering a positive workplace culture. In addition to these HR functions, this role will also include supporting the front office as well as Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Recruiting assistance, coordinating interviews, drafting and delivering offer letters and scheduling new hire orientation.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with hiring documentation requirements.

Workers' Compensation & Safety Compliance

  • Administer workers' compensation claims, coordinating with insurance carriers and tracking case progress.
  • Support safety initiatives and ensure OSHA compliance in partnership with site supervisors.

Performance Management & Employee Relations

  • Assist in the performance review process, tracking evaluations and providing guidance to managers.
  • Address employee relations concerns, conducting investigations and recommending resolutions.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and management regarding HR policies and procedures.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain personnel files and HRIS records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support training and development initiatives as needed.

Administration Responsibilities

  • Answering phones
  • Printing plans
  • Scheduling job walks
  • General office administration assistance

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in the construction, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with recruiting, workers' compensation administration, and employee relations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
