Lovely private family located in Boston, MA seeks a thorough, enthusiastic, hospitality-minded, and experienced full charge Housekeeper to maintain their extensive penthouse and guest residences. The home is incredibly fast paced, housing many guests (run more like a luxury hotel than a standard residence), the two lower floors are occupied by the family. This can be a live-out or live-in position. If live-in, the candidate will be provided an apartment that is connected to the main house with private bed, bath and kitchen. This candidate should have a keen eye for detail, be extremely knowledgeable as well as adaptable in their approach to laundering and housekeeping, and mindful of principal and guest preferences. The ideal candidate will be proactive in keeping the homes in pristine order. The candidate must be comfortable working with additional staff and will report directly to the House Manager. This position consists of a 5-day flex schedule, the ability to travel is a plus, and a valid driver's license is a must.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Full charge Housekeeping throughout the residence daily including all rooms and bathrooms
  • Ability to perform museum-quality cleaning with proficiency in special surfaces (wood, glass, leather, antiques, silver, etc.)
  • Washing, ironing and folding linens, towels, and clothing
  • Management and organization of all closets, pantries, and storage areas
  • Maintain residence for guest readiness and assist with guest care, keep all public spaces up to Principals' standards
  • Ability to turn over the residence quickly for principals or incoming guests
  • Willingness to run routine errands such as doing laundry, dry cleaner, groceries etc.
  • Drink and food service
  • Assist with special events and projects as needed including guest relations, greeting, and hospitality service (both set up and break down as well)
  • Managing list of garments which have been sent out for professional service
  • Packing and unpacking for travel
  • Additional Housekeeping responsibilities as needed and requested

    Requirements:

  • Strong command of the English language; superb communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent references from current and/or previous employers
  • Minimum 3 – 5+ years minimum related experience working in a private home in a similar role(s)
  • Flexibility in scheduling with the willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • The ability and willingness to travel is a plus!
  • Thorough knowledge of detailed household cleaning, cleaning supplies, organization, laundry, food service, and wardrobe maintenance
  • Must maintain a positive attitude, work well with others and be able to work independently
  • Poised and professional in both mindset and manner; hospitality-oriented
  • Always work with the utmost discretion and confidentiality, upholding standards/procedures at all times
  • Valid Driver's License and car REQUIRED; confident driver with a clean driving record
  • Legally able to work in the United States
