The Department needs staff augmentation services for the Department's Office of Information Technology (Client). This RFQ is for the acquisition of one (1) Network Engineer (Contractor Representative) (Job No. 2430, Scope Variant C. Advanced), to support the Client, as described in the SOW.
Network Engineer:
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Professional experience in network engineering, performing network analysis, design, implementing, capacity planning with focus on performance tuning and support of large data center and WAN networks, MINIMUM 5 YEARS.
Professional experience in Cisco routing, switching and security with strong Cisco hardware/software experiences with platforms such as Cisco multilayer switches Cisco Nexus 9K, Catalyst 3800 and 2960X, MINIMUM 5 YEARS.
Professional experience with Palo Alto Firewalls in highly available (HA) pairs which provides VPN Global Protect, SSL description, URL filtering, antivirus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention system (IPS) for the data center perimeter and DMZ, MINIMUM 5 YEARS.
Experience with wireless network technologies that comprise of Cisco Wireless Controllers and lightweight access points (Client).
Professional experience in design and configuration of routing protocols (i.e., IGP) like EIGRP and BGP, MINIMUM 5 YEARS.
Experienced HSRP, VRRP and GLBP for Default Gateway Redundancy.
Involved in designing L2VPN services and encryption system and other VPN with IPSEC based services.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience on IPv4 addressing, subnetting, VLSM and ARP, reverse & proxy ARP, Ping Concepts.
Good knowledge and experience in Installation, Configuration and Administration of Windows, FTP, DNS, NTP, DHCP servers under various LAN and WAN environments.
Ability to manage Access Control Server (Client) configuration for RADIUS & TACACS+ authentication.
Familiarity with Cisco and Palo Alto config backup and recovery software & methodologies.
Professional experience in resolving a diverse range of technical issues across multiple systems and applications for customers. Example: Troubleshooting a voice-over-IP call or a three-tiered web application, MINIMUM 5 YEARS.
Responsible for managing and facilitating network support for disaster recovery objectives.
Excellent customer management/resolution, problem solving and debugging skills, and capable of quickly learning, effectively analyzing results and implement and delivering solutions as an individual and as part of a team.
Ability to communicate and explain technical information in clear terms to non-technical individuals to promote better understanding.
Highly enthusiastic, creative team player, analytical, with interpersonal and communication skills.
Cisco certified network professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.
