We are looking for an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Network Security Engineer for our Network Security team. This position can be located in Brooklyn, NY , Hicksville, NY , Syracuse, NY , or Waltham, MA . Candidates may also reside in Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine. What you'll do As a Network Security Engineer in our Network Security Operations Center (NSOC), you'll be responsible for managing Network Security capabilities daily. Your activities will include incident, change, and problem management. You'll also seek opportunities to improve the NSOC's capabilities and processes, collaborate with stakeholders to optimize security measures, and enhance user experience and security posture. This role may occasionally require you to handle calls outside of regular hours . Key responsibilities include: Gather requirements, assess risks, and implement firewall changes to meet business needs. Triage connectivity issues for applications and users, and implement configuration changes as necessary. Provide guidance on operating, maintaining, and improving Network Security capabilities. Engage with stakeholders to ensure NSOC services meet requirements. Cross-train with team members to support professional development. Identify trends and develop remediation plans for recurring incidents. About you A degree in Cyber Security or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. At least 2 years of hands-on experience with security technologies such as Palo Alto and Cisco Fire Power. Experience with incident and change management in large enterprise environments. Skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing network security tools. Understanding of networking protocols, cloud infrastructure, routing, firewall functions, intrusion detection systems, encryption, load balancing, and other network devices. Certifications such as Cisco CCIE Security, Checkpoint CCSE/CCSM, Palo Alto PCNSE, F5 201/401, or Zscaler ZDTA/ZTCA are a plus. Salary Downstate NY: $97,000 - $114,000/year Massachusetts: $91,000 - $107,000/year Upstate NY: $81,000 - $95,000/year Salary depends on experience and location.
