Pay Range: $19.20 - $26.40 The Research and Development (R&D Science) group at ProteinSimple, a Bio-Techne brand, is seeking an inquisitive and motivated student to join our growing team on our mission to develop game-changing analytical instrumentation. Position Summary: This is a full-time paid internship program which will start in May, June or July 2025 (flexible scheduling). You will work closely with a scientist to learn and perform laboratory experiments using the novel Simple Western platform (automated capillary-based protein analysis system). You will also have the opportunity to learn and collaborate with other departments within product development (e.g., hardware and software engineering). Your work will contribute to the ongoing development of new and existing products to help advance Bio-Techne's evolving portfolio. Please note that this internship is available to undergraduate or graduate students, with the requirements based on level included below. Key Responsibilities: Setup, execute, and optimize experimental plans and protocols with guidance Prepare samples, buffers, and reagents for testing Analyze, interpret, and troubleshoot results Document and present experimental findings Participate in technical discussions and weekly team meetings Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations Program Requirements – Undergraduate (Pay Rate: $20/hour) Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in life science (preferred major in biology, microbiology, immunobiology, biomedical, bioengineering, biochemistry, or related fields) and some lab experience Must have completed (at minimum) the sophomore year of college Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program Program Requirements – Graduate (Pay Rate: $26/hour) Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a graduate-level degree in life science (preferred major in biology, microbiology, immunobiology, biomedical, bioengineering, biochemistry, or related fields) and some lab experience Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program Experience Qualifications: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required Basic laboratory skills including pipetting, solution preparation and knowledge of basic laboratory calculation are required Must have good verbal and written communication skills Learn new techniques quickly and follow procedures precisely Self-motivated, inquisitive, and detail-oriented Ability to work independently and as a team Why Join Bio-Techne: We offer competitive insurance benefits starting on day one: medical, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, long-term disability, pet, and legal and ID shield.
