Job Description

Lakeside HR Group, a leading full-service HR consulting and recruiting firm, is currently seeking an experienced Real Estate Analyst for our client in Omaha, NE. This position will be responsible for assisting in a wide range of asset management, acquisition, and development analyses from project inception to completion, ensuring extraordinary results.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the asset management, development, and acquisition departments with analyses, market studies, special projects and data management

  1. Perform portfolio analysis: Develop and maintain financial models and trackers to evaluate the condition of the assets in the company's portfolio, including but not limited to key performance indicator, cash management, debt management, and capital improvement trackers.
  2. Manage investor reporting: Assist in the production of property quarterly reports, annual budgets, and long-term asset business plans.
  3. Perform financial & treasury analysis: Review monthly financial reports, including accounting code entries and cash balances to ensure accurate reporting. Identify causes for operating shortfalls and coordinate solutions with asset managers.
  4. Present findings and recommendations: Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and investment memos to internal stakeholders and investors, effectively communicating financial concepts and market insights.
  5. Review real estate documents: Review loan agreements, commercial lease agreements, asset management agreements, and partnership agreements as needed.
  6. Conduct market research: Gather and analyze data on market trends, demographics, occupancy rates, rental rates, and supply and demand dynamics in the commercial real estate market.
  7. Assess investment opportunities: Evaluate potential real estate investment opportunities by conducting due diligence, reviewing property financials, lease agreements, and market comparable to identify risks, potential returns, and investment strategies for new acquisitions.
  8. Source and screen investment opportunities: Assist in sourcing and screening new investment opportunities for marketed deals via brokerage community; for off-market deals via established and new industry contacts.
  9. Support due diligence process: Assist in the due diligence process by coordinating property inspections, reviewing legal documents, conducting title searches, and identifying potential environmental issues or zoning restrictions, including building permit and impact fees.
  10. Support predevelopment pipeline: Support the predevelopment process by conducting feasibility studies, evaluating site selection criteria, and conducting financial modeling for target developments. Assist with project coordination, including managing project timelines, budgets, and consultants.
  11. Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with other departments, such as legal, investments, and finance, to gather relevant data and insights and ensure alignment on investment strategies and underwriting assumptions.
  12. Special project assistance: contribute to other projects and initiatives within the organization as the need arises, such as conducting ad-hoc analysis, preparing investor updates, and leading other specialized projects.
  13. Complete any function typical of this career path as requested by management.

Education, Licenses, or Certificates Required:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate or related field or equivalent experience with one to two years of relevant experience. Strong working knowledge of commercial real estate practices and procedures and knowledge of complex financial modeling preferred. Corporate finance, private equity, and/or M&A experience a plus.

Experience Required:

Real estate or related experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word.
