Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is seeking a Senior Power System Controls Engineer to join our team! This is a remote role with approximately 25% travel throughout the West region. The expected annual salary range for this role is $96,300 - $125,000. What you'll do: Our Power Systems Controls (PSC) group is a full-service integrator providing systems, equipment, and technologies for power systems automation. Our team offers seamless integration across major manufacturers of HMIs, PLCs, protective relays, and components. As a Senior Power Systems Controls Engineer, your responsibilities include: Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for Power Transfer applications such as Main-Tie-Main, Main-Gen, and others. Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation. Select components and create bill of materials. Provide sketches, mark-ups, and guidance to Electrical Designers for project drawings. Prepare customer submittals, Sequence of Operation (SOO), and test procedures. Assist with factory testing and field start-ups. Troubleshoot system issues. Develop complex power and control schemes, including load shedding, peak shaving, Microgrid operations, breaker control, and SCADA systems. Ensure projects include proper controls, metering, and monitoring, such as power meters, automation equipment, protective relays, and synchronization. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of power systems controls experience, or a high school diploma with at least 7 years of experience. Valid driver's license. Residence within 50 miles of specified California or Oregon locations, or active-duty military exemption. Preferred: PE License.
