TASTE ROOM SERVER

As a Taste Room Server, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and enhancing the overall guest experience at our winery. You will be responsible for serving wine tastings, bottles of wine, glasses of wine, and food items to our guests while sharing your knowledge and passion for our wines. Your ability to provide excellent service and your deep understanding of our wine offerings will be pivotal to the success of our establishment.

THE DUTIES OF A SERVER INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
  • Greet guests with a warm welcome and a fond farewell; engage them in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Provide exceptional guest hospitality and service to ensure guests enjoy their experience.
  • Provide recommendations and descriptions of wines to guests based on their preferences and taste profiles.
  • Become familiar with all returning guests and know their special requests.
  • Process orders on the Point of Sale.
  • Conduct wine tastings, ensuring guests have a memorable experience and learn about the characteristics of each wine.
  • Serve bottles of wine and glasses of wine to guests, ensuring accuracy in orders and timely delivery.
  • Present food menus, describe menu items and take food orders from guests.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room and dining areas.
  • Handle credit card transactions and accurately process payments.
  • Assist in stocking wine inventory and merchandise displays as needed.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of Orfila wines, vineyard practices, and winemaking processes to provide informative and engaging experiences for guests.
  • Uphold all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Maintain a calm, composed, and professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or food and beverage service preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Passion for wine and eagerness to learn about different varietals, wine regions, and wine production methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
  • RBS certification for responsible beverage service preferred.
