Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. Job Description

Role Summary:

Dynamic and highly visible opportunity for a senior human resources business partner, providing overall strategic human resources support for the NBCUniversal Finance organization and global Finance function, as well as the Corporate Strategy, Controller & Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Procurement and Tax teams, and the NBCUniversal Communications organization and global Communications function, as well as the Corporate Events and Corporate Social Responsibility teams. The Vice President, Human Resources will partner closely with senior leaders in finance and communications and their teams providing HR support and guidance. This position reports to the Global Head of HR, Corporate Human Resources, leading a team of HR business partners in New York, Los Angeles and London, and will be based in NBCUniversal’s offices in Manhattan, NY.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the company’s senior finance and communications leaders to create and foster a community across the company-wide finance function; build strong relationships with leaders and employees, and develop an in-depth knowledge of our finance and communications talent at all levels across the company, their unique talent needs, as well as function-wide trends and challenges
  • Help communicate and bring to life the vision, values, goals and objectives of NBCUniversal’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Communications Officer throughout the functions
  • Lead and leverage HR processes and drive key HR initiatives across the Corporate departments, including staffing, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, training and development, rewards & recognition, organizational effectiveness and employee communication
  • Partner closely with embedded HR business partners to build consistency and cohesion within the businesses and ensure a proactive awareness of key HR initiatives impacting business finance employees 
  • Own ‘talent’ across the company’s finance and communications function, to include building a robust pipeline for roles, maintaining competitive compensation, identifying common development opportunities, and ensuring the selection and promotion of the best talent across the company
  • Lead identification and movement of key talent across the enterprise by partnering with business HR leaders, corporate leadership and Talent Acquisition
  • In partnership with Comcast HR, work to attract world-class entry-level talent to our organization; partner with Comcast HR to develop and refine pipeline and development programs to ensure they meet NBCUniversal’s talent needs
  • Provide executive coaching to both Corporate Finance, Communications and Business Finance and Communications leaders, offering feedback and advice on employee and organizational issues
  • Partner with Corporate and Business leaders on enterprise-wide strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with leadership and corporate talent development to design and implement employee development programs
  • Where needed and in partnership with other HR leaders, act as an HR liaison to the functions operating as a resource on issues that may have broader HR implications across the company
  • Work with Corporate leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive, motivating and inclusive work environment
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional HR experience, including experience in an HR leadership role

  • Project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
  • Takes ownership; able to establish self as the ‘go-to’ HR resource for client organizations
  • Strong diplomacy and ability to work across a matrix/decentralized finance function

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
