Description As the DC Yard Driver, you will: Coordinate movement of all in-bound and out-bound trailers in the yard. Move trailers to and from the yard based on instructions received from the shipping or receiving coordinators. Complete a DVIR on the yard tractor at the beginning of the shift. Receive instructions from the coordinator on what trailers need to be moved to which doors. Follows all yard safety procedures including but not limited to Staying alert to traffic in the yard Hooking tractors Placing & Removing chocks Handling swing outdoors Close all trailer doors before exiting the yard. Follows the rules of the road to transfer trailers to other warehouses. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: Must have a current CDL (Class B) to drive on public roads. Ability to work 2ndrd shift Must be able to provide a good safety record and maintain this record while in this position. Must have good attendance record and past record of dependability. Must have the ability to communicate and work well with other departments (particularly shipping and receiving coordinators). Must be willing to work OT as necessary. 5 years of good driving experience; would consider less experience if candidate worked as yard driver.
