Your new company:

General Contractor hiring for a Construction Project Engineer to work on commercial construction projects throughout the Washington DC area Seeking to connect with professionals with 2+ years of experience in construction that are looking to build long-term careers in the industry, open to current Project Engineers or Assistant Project Managers coming from a subcontractor or GC background. Successful applications will be US Citizens due to the nature of the project. No sponsorship or visa transfer is available for this role.

The initial assignment will be to work on renovation construction projects within Higher Education facilities throughout the DC area but could expand into commercial tenant improvement, municipality and multifamily projects.

Your new role:

As a Construction Project Engineer you will provide administrative and project management support to the Project and Field Management construction team. You will be working on municipality and interior construction projects throughout the Washington DC area.

Your task is to support the construction team to ensure that targets set for the project are completed to the required standard of quality and within the set time and budget. You will be involved in a variety of tasks including project scheduling, bidding, take-offs, procurement and cost controls; as well as the management of RFI’s, submittals and change orders.

What you'll need to succeed:

• 2+ years’ experience working in the construction industry for a general contractor or subcontractor.
• Experience in commercial construction, this could be on new build or interior renovation projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in a construction related discipline preferred but not essential.
• This is a fast-paced construction position so you will need to be able to multi-task and be an excellent communicator and able to work with different personalities and levels of seniority within an organization.
• Experience in any construction software experience you have such as procore or bluebeam in addition to proficiency in Microsoft packages is a plus.
• Candidates must be US Citizens and be local to the DC area. Overseas applicants, or professionals that will now or at some stage need support with sponsorship will not be considered for this particular opportunity.
