Job Description Cornerstone Church (Los Banos, CA) Pastor The Big Picture Cornerstone Church (csclb.org) is seeking a full-time Pastor to lead our church as we actively take the gospel to the town of Los Banos.
Requirements Who We Are and Who We Are Looking For We are restarting God's church in Los Banos CA and are seeking a pastor to lead our church as we actively take the gospel to the town of Los Banos. We are seeking a man with a shepherd's heart, who easily and naturally connects with people, preaches gospel centered sermons, and has experience in leading a transformative discipleship process. This is a full-time position with a yearly salary of 72,000 dollars plus benefits. We are hoping to have our pastor in place by June of 2024. This church replant is a wonderful opportunity for a pastor with an interest in church replanting and church revitalization.
Pastor Job Description Essentials Provide spiritual leadership to the congregation, fostering a culture of faith, love, and service.
Develop and deliver engaging, biblically based weekly sermons during worship services, as well as on special occasions and events.
Plan and lead services, collaborating with the worship team, and ensuring that services are meaningful and spiritually enriching.
Lead in the administration of the two ordinances of the church: baptism and communion.
Provide pastoral care for members of the congregation, including visiting the sick, counseling those in need, and offering support during times of crisis.
Facilitate and encourage spiritual growth and discipleship through the development and implementation of small group ministries, Bible studies, and other educational programs.
Work with church leadership and staff to establish and execute a vision and strategic plan for the church's growth and leadership development.
Engage and build relationships within the local community, participating in outreach and mission activities, and collaborating with other organizations to address community needs.
Oversee the administration and management of church operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and personnel management in the church office.
Mentor, supervise, and support church staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment with robust leadership development.
Perform other pastoral duties, including weddings, funerals, baptisms, and dedications, as required.
We are part of the EFCA and want someone who is doctrinally aligned.
Experience in effectively mobilizing people for discipleship and helping equip others to reach the unchurched.
Benefits Pastor Compensation Package Base Salary - $72,000 (6000 per month)
2% cola raise for years two and three
Year 2 = $73,440 (6,120 per month)
Year 3 = $74,908,80 (6242.40 per month)
* First two years of salary are guaranteed even if replant does not continue
Health Insurance - To be negotiated and provided
Vacation - 4 weeks
Study Leave - 1 week until 10 years then 2 weeks per year
Book Allowance - $600 per year
Pastoral Expenses - $200 per month if needed
After year three with a growing church, the following will kick in.
Retirement - 7 percent of gross
Sabbatical - 3 months after 7 years of service with format as a continuing pattern.
