Job Overview:
We are seeking skilled and passionate dog trainers with a minimum of 2 years professional dog training experience to join our team. Must understand the principles of engagement, the 4 quadrants, behavior modification, and balanced training with high emphasis on engagement/positive reinforcement. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a strong love for dog training and a dedicated team spirit. Hard-working people with aptitude will move up quickly but must show that they can handle all aspects of the job. In this company. While we all have our roles to perform, nobody, including myself (the owner) is above doing any job. Teamwork is essential.
Duties of a Trainer:
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs of various breeds and sizes
- Assess the behavior and temperament of dogs to develop personalized training plans
- Teach basic obedience commands, leash walking, and socialization skills
- Address specific behavior issues such as aggression, separation anxiety, and excessive barking
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors
- Provide guidance and support to dog owners on training techniques and strategies
- Monitor the progress of dogs during training sessions and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and client information
Skills:
- You will gain strong knowledge of dog behavior, learning theory, and training techniques
- Experience working with dogs in a professional setting (e.g., kennel, veterinary clinic)
- Ability to safely handle and restrain dogs of all sizes
- Excellent team spirit & communication skills to effectively interact with clients and provide clear instructions
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for animals
- Customer service skills to address client concerns and provide exceptional service
- Knowledge of pet grooming practices is a plus
